DevCap is led by Jake Bailey, a real estate development specialist. As a division head at a publicly traded merchant developer, he carried full profit-and-loss and operational responsibility — acquisitions, entitlement, development, and disposition, end to end. While under his leadership, Jake's division ranked #1 nationwide in pre-tax income, while also managing the company's largest-ever capital concentration in a single land-bank/development position.
Jake's experience also includes LIHTC development, and sourcing deals in multifamily asset brokerage. Finding the opportunity — not just managing it — has been part of the job from the start.
Business operations & asset management
As director of finance for a private developer, Jake oversaw asset management and the accounting team for a $400M+ portfolio of land, retail, office, industrial, and residential assets. His experience includes underwriting, construction financing and disbursements, budgeting and cash-flow forecasting, lender and investor reporting, and every function of the finance and accounting team.
DevCap's Business Growth domain applies the systems required to manage complex assets. We leverage these systems to manage special projects and optimize every-day business operations.
